ITALIAN COOPERATION PROJECTS WITH E. MONDLANE UNIVERSITY, MAPUTO, MOZAMBIQUE

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Sassari has been involved with its professors and investigators for many years in university cooperation in Mozambique, initially with the local Faculty of Medicine UEM (2003) and in recent years with the Center for Biotechnology UEM (2009) and the Museum of Natural History UEM (2015), in research and training.
These activities were developed in collaboration with the Department of Biology and Biotechnology C. Darwin, University of Rome Sapienza.
The projects that have been developed were financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy (DGCS and AICS) and, in the attached sheet, the first 3 projects developed in the area of biotechnology and biodiversity are described:

This prolonged activity, still ongoing, was based on solid collaboration between the institutions involved and produced great results in research, leading to the training of more than 60 young Mozambican researchers thanks also to the School of Master in Biotechnology (ongoing the 7th cycle), founded in October 2010 and supported by our cooperation.
