BM1 Edna Macule: Molecular detection of pathogens and food source identification in ticks of the genus Rhipicephalus maculatus in the Parque Nacional de Maputo.

General Objective:To identify the pathogens and food source of Rhipicephalus maculatus from Maputo National Park. Specific objectives: to identify the species of ticks present in the environment, in the Maputo National Park; identify, by molecular tests, the pathogens present in Rhipicephalus maculatus; describe the phylogenetic profile of the identified pathogens; identify, using the molecular marker Cytochrome B, the food source of Rhipicephalus maculatus ticks.

BM3 Osvaldo da Conceição Laurindo:Phylodynamics of the pandemic influenza virus in Mozambique in Moçambique in the period from 2009 to 2022.

General Objective: To carry out phylogenetic analyzes of the influenza virus A(H1N1)pdm09 circulating in Mozambique in the period 2009-2022, through the genes they encode for the glycoproteins Hemagglutinin and Neuraminidase. Specific objectives: to determine the phylogenetic relationships of influenza A(H1N1) pdm09 which has circulated in Mozambique with worldwide strains, through the hemagglutinin gene; identify the variants of influenza A(H1N1) pdm09 that have circulated in Mozambique, through hemagglutinin and neuraminidase; search for gene mutations in the HA segment compared to reference vaccines.

BM4 Ernesto Carlos Sambo: Cloning and Expression of the CP Genetic Component of Banana Bunchy Top Virus (BBTV) in Escherichia coli and production of antibodies in rabbits (Cavia Porcellus) (Cavia Porcellus) and in chickens for the detection of BBTV in Bananas. Objective: To develop an ELISA test by cloning the BBTV CP gene as a prototype for rapid tests.
