Epidemiology and Molecular Characterization of the Rift Valley Yellow Fever and Establishment of Molecular Techniques for detection of Rift Valley Yellow Fever in Mozambique

General objective: To understand the epidemiological diversity of Rift Valley Yellow Fever, develop molecular characterization, establish a serological technique for the detection of Rift Valley Yellow Fever circulating in Mozambique, and develop recombinant proteins for serological diagnosis of Rift Valley Yellow Fever.
Specific objectives: to analyze and report the epidemiological dynamics of Rift Valley Yellow Fever in Mozambique; perform whole genome sequencing for the molecular characterization and phylogenetic analysis of Rift Valley Yellow Fever circulating in Mozambique; produce Rift Valley Yellow Fever antigen for serological testing in order to establish local diagnostic capacity for Rift Valley Yellow Fever detection in Mozambique; to develop recombinant Rift Valley Yellow Fever protein to be used as an antigen for serological diagnosis of infectious Rift Valley Yellow Fever.
